A Southern Soiree Highlight Reel!!
Back from tour and only the second day home, I felt like I got hit by a mack truck. Although, I was lucky enough to get high again from an amazing gig that took place at the Art Museum tonight. Things aren’t slowing down, and that is a beautiful piece of why I love what I do- time occupied by music! :)
After taking a few moments to regroup, I would love to give you a little highlight reel from the trip… Here we go!
Although it is not considered a southern city, we made our way to New York for a show at the Rockwood Music Hall. Summertime was a crowd favorite!

Our first stop on the road was at Madam’s Organ in DC and MY did we have fun… The gigs were lively and the weather was crazy… if you missed it, check out our fun little weather report. We also were lucky enough to have Ernest join us for the first evening.. one word: WOW!
We then traveled to Richmond, Virginia where we played at this neat little hipster bar called The Camel and moved along to Roanoke, Virginia at the Blue 5. Quite a beautiful setting and thanks to Chas for joining us- he saw us in DC and traveled down to play for both gigs! Rock It!!

From there we traveled down to Greensboro, NC and played at The Green Bean. We saw some family and friends and also got to do quite a fun interview with two wonderful Argentinians! There was a really neat little museum called “Elsewhere” that we were able to do some cool photo shoots in as well. It was neat because the museum was full of one woman’s belongings that she had collected over many years. Anything you could think of, she owned and was displayed in the museum. Also, it was considered interactive so we got to play dress up and also experiment with some of the eccentric contraptions the had floating around.

Next stop was the ATL. Great stop! We were there for a little under a week and enjoyed every moment. We played 2 shows and a few open mics as well. Our friend Ally showed us around and took us to all the hot spots. We also ventured over to Athens which proved to be quite the party town. I’ll just leave it at this… Brady Bunch Dubstep in the Tikki Hut (there is no video available for this because there may be inappropriate moments throughout)… :)

While we were in Athens we were fortunate enough to shoot a video with a wonderful friend of ours named Eric. After taking us on a lovely drive through an abandoned golf course, we decided we would come back the next day at sunset to shoot the video… here is a still from the shoot. As you can see, we were able to get a little creative with our limited resources… :)
With Georgia left behind, we headed to Nashville, TN where BB King’s awaited us. We played two nights in a row there and were lucky enough to link up with the Stacey Mitchart Band. We had a little too much fun that night…

Lexington with the family was super fun! The show was amazing! Although there is no current footage of it, someone DID end up on a table dancing. No one was hurt… :)
As for the rest of the tour, we rambled around and played shows in Louisville, Pittsburgh, Gettysburg, and Shippensburg. Over all, tour was educational, beneficial, fun, exhausting, and just plain awesome. Thank you to everyone who supported me before, during, and after… whether you came to a show, bought a cd, told a friend, donated to the kickstarter, took us in for a night (or two), cooked for us, bought us whiskey, or just posted on Facebook words of encouragement… I am so blessed and honored to be surrounded by an amazing group of fans, friends, and family. I couldn’t have done this without you.!!
So much thanks!!
xoxo,
Jessi
